I recently bought an '07 Ultra equipped with the Sundowner 2 up seat. I absolutely love the way this seat fits me and so does my lady. I also received a Badlander seat to use with the tourpak removed for a more sporty, solo ride. I don't like the Badlander as it puts me a bit further back in the saddle and just not comfortable for me (5'9 with 30" inseam). Since I really like the feel and fit of the Sundowner, I was thinking about picking up the solo version but I am not thrilled with the tank adapter needed to fill the spot in front.
So the question is, what seat(s) compare to the Sundowner regarding fit and comfort? The idea of spending several hundred dollars on various seats searching for the right fit seems a bit overwhelming, time consuming and expensive.
Just to add...I looked (online) at the Saddlemen Renegade. I like the look of it. It says on the website that it is "Low and Wide". I don't know how that compares to the Sundowner. Anyone with any experience on the Saddlemen seats? They look real good and well built.
I second the C&C recommendation. I bought the solo seat on my now departed Fatboy from Chuck. And I now have a custom solo seat in leather and snakeskin en route, should be here next week. Excellent quality and customer service.
Any way to make the Sundowner work for you? I have a one-piece Sundowner and a two-piece Mustang. The Mustang is a great seat but if not for the drivers backrest that came with it I would probably use the Sundowner exclusively. For the $$, the Sundowner is just plain hard to beat.

The Sundowner is a great, comfortable seat, I just don't care for the tank adapter and don't understand why the MOCO wouldn't make a Sundowner for the Ultra's that doesn't need the tank adapter. Maybe simply not enough demand.
For you guys with the C & C's. Can I assume they have a similar bucket style seat and positioning as the Sundowner?

They do. Part # 51542-01b has the "long" nose and doesnt require the filler piece
