Has anyone had this happen, the little key light flashed the other day a few times and it went off, I read in the manual that it has something to do with the security system which I don't have.
Has anyone else had this to happen and could it mean something else like throwing a code, the bike seems fine, but something else has come to mind while I was typing, I've noticed the 6th gear light has failed to light up a few times after going to 6th, after a few seconds then it will come on.
I called the service guy and he said they would have to hook it up to the scanner to check but couldn't do it the day I called which happened to be the only day I could bring it in, and to make matters worse, were leaving for PA on thursday, any thoughts.
Security indicator is also your diagnostics...flashes code(s) when something's amiss. Bike's under warranty so call back & plead your case - see if Service Manager can get you worked into sched.
Geezer I will take a look at that but it just did this the other day, I have rode several miles after the cable was adjusted but I will try that, thanks.
Regarding the key light, have you swapped and bulbs for LEDs?
Well I have put in a xenmon bulb in, but it's been in for awhile, I did put in some 10R12 plugs for the very hot weather but I've probably put 4 or 500 miles on them already before noticing this, I also installed the HD hidden antenna under the fairing which sux by the way, any more thoughts on this, could it be the plugs possibly causing a richer mixture throwing a code?
