I bought the Hd short offset mounting bracket and hyway pegs, but the bolt is ugly. What have others done to spruce this ugly bolt up. It says to torque to 55 ft lbs, so it is a pretty heafty bolt. Here are the picture of the front and back of the hyway pegs so you can see what I'm talking about.
If it's not chrome replace it with the same bolt chrome plated. You can buy 'em at Ace hardware, & most other hardware stores. Or change it to a chrome socket head allen bolt, chrome button head allen, or just cover it with a Hottopper.
I looked all over the two pics and I couldn't find
ugly any, and and my wife is fixing to be mad at
you for showing me something else I got to have.
I have a question for Sandcrab, do you have enough
room to spin the clamps around and put the bolt
to the inside to bring the pegs in closer to the crash bar

I tried both ways, with the bolt head forwd as it is now, and with the bolt head aft, but couldn't get the angle I needed when the bolt was aft that made my foot comfortable. I was thinking that maybe the long offset might give me the clearance, but don't need to buy anthing else right now.
I have the same mount... gotta tell you when I cruising down the road with my honey hanging on the back... that bolt is the furtherest thing from my mind.
