Motolights Quick Review
Some of the reviews have mentioned the goodness of these lights in terms of added daytime presence. I have no idea, I ain't looking at them. However, after a wonderful shirtless, gloveless and no helmet night time ride, I can tell you that these lights absolutely make a differnce at night. Ofcourse, for the price point, they should, and they do. I have known for a while that I needed more light. I started by replacing the passing lights with a cleaner light and then went with a 100/55w bulb from Candlepower via Walter's Workshop. While that made a nice difference, I had no idea of the depth of the dead spot in my light plane until I switched these babies on and off. Mike set them at 'level' and the light primarily goes in front of the bike with a bit of a higher overflow. It's amazing what is missing in front of the bike when they're not on. I might consider aiming them a degree or two higher for more throw down the road, but that would also raise the brightness level to oncoming traffic, which isn't good for anyone.
In closing, we had a wicked storm come through here Friday afternoon. There's still alot of debris on the roads....sticks, twigs, mish mash. I was able to detect and navigate around trouble through the neighborhoods this evening because I could see the stuff. Also, roads are in bad shape everywhere and I was able to detect bad nuances and contours in the roads
this evening. I think that added metric will help a bunch this fall when the gobblins come out.
Highly recommend the Motolights.
