What am I hearing and feeling?
Before investing in Progressive 440s or 940s I need to know what I'm hearing and feeling when my '00 EGC (with 1" aftermarket air shocks newly serviced with 7.5 weight oil and 8 lbs. air) hits a 1-2" pothole. I weigh 144. Is it the shock compressing to its limit, the swingarm hitting its limit of travel, or the tire compressing almost to the rim? In what order will these three happen? Sometimes it does lift me off the seat about an inch, makes a noise, and something does reach its limit but I don't know which. All replies greatly appreciated.

Im going to guess it's your shocks topping out as the rear wheel drops into the hole. I had this problem with a set of 440s. I changed them out for 412s and the noise went away. At first i thought it was the IAS system doing it's thing but the ride was much smoother with the 412s also. I could be wrong as this is only my .02
