Picked up some used wheels off an 04 RK Custom last night to replace the spoke wheels on my 06 Ultra that were trashed. The RK wheels only have 35k miles on them and the bearings appear to be in good condition.
The questions are: Do I still need to repace the bearings and will the spacers remain the same?
I did the same thing this past spring. The Bearings are cheap enough to change out and for piece of mind and reading about so many bearing failures I would change them. Cost me $35 for the bearing and my indy charged me $20 bucks to take out the old and press in the new. The spacer should be the same. I replaced my Spoked rims with Street Glide rims. No issues at all.
Thanks, I will taking the wheels over to an INDE to mount and balance the tires. Will get him to replace the bearings at the same time. Noticed that the service manual calls for new torx screws on the rotors. Will take care of that as well.
I see how easy it is to bring up old threads, I scrolled down too fast on another and posted a quick reply and bam. I'll pay more attention from now on. Or will I.
