Hey y'all
Usually my questions are answered through searching the forum, couldn't find this one.
Riding 2011 street glide 8800 miles recently noticed clunking noise 5th,6th gear when going from a coast 0 throttle to twisting accelerate throttle. This is at normal speed for those gears. Above 60 mph. Noise seams to come from left side. May have always been there just didn't notice it. Normal or not?
Thanks
Just a guess, but I'd take a look at your primary chain tension. I have the same sound on my 2006 Road King and was told to adjust my primary chain...just haven't had time yet!
My '09 Street Glide has a clunk like that in every gear. If I'm rolling with the clutch in and there is slack in the drivetrain ( not using the gears to decelerate or the throttle to accelerate) as soon as I release the clutch and give it a little throttle, I get a clunk. Took it to the dealer and they tried a new bike and it did the same thing. They said no one there had ever noticed it either.
