Default Sunoco race fuel

I just filled up my tank w/ SUNOCO RACE FUEL. They only have it available in 100 octane if you fill up your sled or car (truck, etc, etc.) However, if you want 110 octane, they will only allow you to fill up a "tank" because this is NOT for street use.

Anyone use this type of high octane before? A couple of my bro's said that it really clean up the inside of the motor, and sometimes can throw some big flames out of the pipes. (Not that I want it for that)
Some have said that they could really tell a big difference. Other then that, they really did say much other than it cleaned up the internals of the motor. Could someone explain in more detail?

I only put on about 30 miles since I filled it up and had about 1/8 of a tank of 93 octane so I can't tell or say anything at this time.

Any ideas? Is this good for the motor, long term life? Should I only use once a month to fill up or do it all the time?
This stuff ain't cheap either. 100 octane for $6.99 a gallon or 110 octane for $7.50 a gallon.

Just trying to get the pro's & con's for using this high octane, other than being very, very expensive.

Thanks in advance.

My Understanding ( When I raced HighCompression JetSkiMotors) was all that a higher Octane did for you is regulate the Compression of the GAs and make it more stable . For a Motor that doesn't need it , it will have no effect what so ever. When you compress the lower octane gas (when higher is needed) it becomes unstable and that's what gives you Ping and detonation issues.

Now Sunoco if I remember from running it does put some additives in it and that might help clean some deposits but I wouldn't think you will notice any difference at all in performance .

Unless you have a high compression "race" motor, the only thing your going to notice is a lighter wallet.

High octane will prevent pre-ignition in those high compression engines. Thus allowing even more timing advance to be dialed in.

In a street motor, your just wasting $$

Waste of money and possibly bad for your engine.

If you don't have a high compression engine, then it will actually reduce performance.
You want to to run the lowest possible octane level that will not create motor ping.

Default sunoco race fuel

my bike runs great on race gas. here in calif we have the worst fuel. I run it when temps get over 80 degrees and the bike runs much cooler. air cool engine seem to work real good on it. my weed eater lawnmore and outboard like it too. i would like to know how it can hurt your engine like others say?

Been curious if the leaded race fuel has an effect on the oxygen sensors like it does on current car/trucks.

Can you get leaded race fuel anymore?

Only unleaded gasoline at the pump, but you can still get leaded race fuel in the drum. And race fuel will burn cleaner as far as depositing goes (look at the end of your exhaust, should be light grey instead of black)and evaporates very clean as far as the sensors go. Most engines won't need 100+ octane but it usually is what they say it is(100 octane) versus the whole "what really is in those 91/92/93 tanks?" I use it when I go by the 1 station that has it at the pump but I don't make an big effort to use it all the time as that station not near my house. Can't hurt a thing except costing more money and maybe not getting more performance.
