Headlight trim install

Anyone install the headlight trim-visor. Bought it and wasnt sure if the little clip on the original trim was suppose to stay on and stay in place as I put the trim visor on. As I put it all together and start to tighten things up there is a uneven gap on the right side between the two trims. Any suggestions?

yeah, the little spring clip stays on the original ring, and the new one is supposed to install over it...yeah right! i drove myself crazy trying to lose that gap you spoke of to no avail. i ended up throwing it across the highway and watched as a semi ran over it. you can search on here and find tons of posts from people who had the same problem and more.

This thing is so easy to install!! You just have to back off the screws that hold the whole housing on a little the trim ring goes behind the housing!! Clip stays on!!
