Default 12 wheel weight's on rear...normal?

My 11 RK came with 2 strips of 6 wheel weight's on the rear. Seems to me 12 weight's is a bit much. Should I consider this normal?
When I got my bike last Winter I thought I had 2 small weight's on the front but today I looked and there is nothing there.
Now on the rear I see 2 weight's are gone and 2 are just dangling. I called my Dealer and they said wheel weight's are not covered under Warranty, but they will fix me up for free because I bought my Harley from them.
At that time I didn't know that 2 may be missing from the front all so, and I cant prove that.
I'm going there tomorrow and see what they will do. This will be my first experience in the service department. Should be interesting to see how they handle this little problem.

I counted 14 on the front of a 2012 Street Glide sitting in the showroom a couple weeks ago. I pointed it out to the salesmen who just looked dumbfounded.

Each weight is only 1/4 oz so that would make 3 oz total. Might try to rotate the tire on the rim before rebalancing to see if it would help.

Well if you have seen 14 on a front wheel, then 12 isn't so bad on a rear. Now if I could just know for sure that there was some on the front.
Maybe when I get new tires I will have them put the beads in next time so I won't have weights falling off all over the wheels...Thanks.

I have seen that many before, but there's no way I would buy a bike with that, I would insist on a wheel change before delivery. Too bad you didn't notice it before purchase. Hopefully the service dept. fixes you up.

Honestly, i wouldn't worry about it! I change my own tires, and i've never balanced a motorcycle wheel EVER. My last bike was a sporty that i'd stretched the frame on, made into a hardtail, laced & trued my own 21" front wheel, replaced the rear wheel with a laced wheel and didn't have weights on either wheel. I had it 120+ many times and not once did i feel the need to have my wheels balanced! I realize every other bike out there has weights on the wheels....i'm just not convinced that they need them. My new bike still has the stock rear tire on it, and still has the weights on the wheel. I ordered my 21" laced wheel and it came direct from Ride Wright mounted and also was supposed to be balanced....it doesn't have any weights on it! I know at 100+ i don't feel the need to take it in and check to see if it really is balanced, or if they just skipped that step!

Default weights

Take another look and read the weight no. on the weight. since the demise of lead, they are using some other composite with less weight per unit, takes many more to do same as the lead before. I also was dumfounded.

I just went out and looked, 5 gm or .18 oz. I think each one feel's very light.
I have 1 missing and 2 are dangling by a thread and nothing on the front, like I said, I'm almost 100% sure I had some on the front when it was brand new.
I wonder why so many are coming off? All of them are doing the same, not sticking to the wheel. No tape or sticky stuff left on the wheel after they fall off.
I'm leaving to drive to the Dealer in about a half hour...Thanks.

He's got a 2011 Road King. Innovative Balancing, the company that makes Dynabeads, doesn't recommend them for 65-series or lower-profile tires.
