There is a small plastic piece in the ignition switch that is prone to breakage. If it breaks, you can't turn the switch. The Moco has redesigned it. I had mine changed. It took a couple of hours and was done without charge. Contact the dealer first, because at one time there was a backorder on the switches. You can still use the same key, etc.
bought my 06 ultra new on 6/30/06 How would I tell if I need the upgrade before I have a problem. The build date of my 06 was 4/06 acording to the neck tag

what? are u telling me u didn't get a recall notice either? what the hell goes on here. i'd be frigging livid if i found out there was a recall notice, and bought the bike new, and i didn't get one!@#$%&!
there has to be more to the story here...
Bought my 06 RK new, I've never gotten a recall notice.
Guess I'll have to have a chat with my dealer about this
switch problem, and front motor mount issue.
If it wasn't for this forum, I'd never have known about the
8 degree injectors, that were giving me problems.
Is it the dealer, or the MoCo, that's responsible for notifying the
customer about these things?
When I bought the 06 I checked the front motor mount and it was the new style I also checked the injectors to see if I had 8 or 25 degree I have 25 degree. I checked out the radio a while ago and I need an upgrade the clock is slow I am running an old version 6.8 or 7.? I don't remember as of this writing.. I guess I need to ask the dealer to check this recall as I don't have any idea what to look for...
