Just changed tires from the dunlop 402 to metzler 880 on a 99 ultra, hope they work well in the rain.
They do.
Touring - definitely ride in the rain. Like another poster said, good gear makes all the difference.
2 piece aerostitch Darien, FF helmet, goretex boots, and a bagger... rain, no problem!
Thank you all for all your input. Seems that in addition to all the idiots on the road we have to battle the fine dutch and Belgian weatherman and women..... Drove around 800 km this weekend, most of which in perfect riding weather. Yesterday I did get some showers, one of which so bad I had to stop on the side of the road because I couldn't see the car 20m in front of me. Glasses fogged up!
So indeed, it's all about the right gear. No raingear, open helmet and no anti-fog... well, it's just more of a challenge.
