We found a fallen tree coming around one of the turns at the Dragon. Luckily a lady saw it first and was standing on the road flagging people down. We alsmost hit her instead...

The first time I was on the "Dragon" (it wasn't called that back then) was 30 years ago. Some friends and I had rail buggies we had built and were camping at Calderwood Lake. I was tired and 129 made it worse. I was driving an old '72 Ford pickup, pulling the rail buggy taking a lane and a half in the curves. There was no traffic back then. When I got to the campsite one of my friends was already there with a full size Winnebago, a dune buggy and a runabout boat. I asked how he got there, he told me he had driven 129 pulling the buggy with the boat behind the buggy. I couldn't believe he would even try that.
I live about 2 hr ride from the dragon. When someone comes up to go riding they all want to go ride the Dragon. All without exception will remark that the ride up to the dragon and ride back was much better the Dragon. It’s a Been there got the T-shirt place but when you live up here you have a lot of friends that have to get the Shirt.
