My bro has the Nuvi 350 which is the non-bike version of the Zumo I believe. Much better than the bigger 2610 type units. First it has a battery, so you can use it anywhere and don't need to power it on a bike. Many people make brackets for it. It's much smaller than the 2610 so it's portable. It can be used in the car as well, so you buy one Nuvi (Zumo) and use it anywhere, even in a rental car when you go outta town.

I use the Garmin 2610 also, I mount it to the left handle bar with a Ram mount. I chose the 2610 beacause it does not use a hard drive to store the maps,it uses a compact flash card. I use the cigarette lighter for power.

Another vote for the 2610.......added bonus for me is that since I use it in my truck for work (outside sales), it's tax deductible!

2610 Here also. 2 gig card can hold the entire USA, with about 500 Megabytes free.
The Zumo is supposed to be a good unit, specifically made for motorcycles. I don't care for Hard Drive based units, nor do I care for Units that cannot be upgraded independant of their manufacturer. Pay close attention to whether the unit is waterproof also.

I'm going to wait for the Zumo 550 to come out. I like that it has an MP3 player built in and is ready for satellite radio and weather. I'm hoping the mount it comes with is good. For the kind of $$$ they want it ought to be. I'm still having a bit of a tough time convincing myself that it's something I need, and I don't like the idea of having to pay a whack more $$$ for a satellite radio antenna, where to put it, and having to hide all the wires.

Halfbreed...I believe the Zumo can even be submerged for a short tome.

I'll add another vote for the awesome Garmin 2610, I own two of them(I use one on the bike & my wife has one in her car) with 2 gig CF cards to hold the detail maps of the entire USA.

The 2610 is water & shockproof & has a super touchscreen. Unless you need features like mp3 or Bluetooth, I don't think there is a better unit ever made for M/C use.

A Nuvi is not a good choice at all for M/C use(unless you never get caught in the rain), they are not waterproof.

A 2610 can be used in any rental car, it comes with a universal beanbag mount & 12v plug.
