Default Cam choice and other advice needed...

I decided to swap out the cams on my bike but not sure which ones to go with. A myriad of choices makes it tough. I ride two up at least 50% of the time and want lots of torque and good roll on performance. I don't wring it out to redline and usually shift below 4500. A quiet valvetrain would also be nice. I'm buying a revolution precision EMS system so I really only need someone to install the cams.

This leads me to the second question. Can anyone suggest a reliable shop in the southeastern Michigan or southwestern Ontario area that can do the swap? Any idea what it should cost?

Thanks a ton!
J.

For what your looking for the SE 255 cams are a great economical choice. I have them and they work perfect I ride two up most of the time I wanted exactly what you are looking for. But the Woods 555 is nice too but you will be spending more coin to get the numbers over 4500 rpm. Cam swap is something you can do yourself there are great write ups and videos around here. Get adjustable push rods and new lifters to make it easier and faster if you go with the Woods on these you could end up with some quieter valve train. I have SE tapered pushrods and stock lifters the vale train noise is really non existent. Running Redline 20/60 and can't complain one iota!

If you live in Ontario, be careful with Customs if you have the work done in the US... I've had them ask or look over my bike(s) looking for "recent" work. Returning into BC last year, my Kelowna based Pal was asked about all the parts on his 2011 Limited ( he threw his wallet at the P&A book) He'd kept a copy of his purchase order just in case... Just a heads up Mike
