I just got a 2002 electra glide classic and the tour pak is starting to crack by the hinge is there an easy fix to stop it from cracking more.

Lots of guys have used JB Weld with success on various cracks in the tour pack. You might want to try it. That's some pretty damn tuff stuff.

While you're fixing the crack, pick up a set of the upgraded hinges. Since your's is already cracked you may want to make a beefier backing plate.

....... i was wondering if that might be do-able w/the upgrade hinges.
.... does anyone have an image of what the new hinges look like from the inside ?
......... i've got the same thing going on @ the hinge of my TP I'd like to address the issue before it becomes a real issue.

I've got the same problem. I've considered using this:
http://www.plast-aid.com

I did get some and used it to repair some trim pieces on our van, and it worked like a champ and appears to be a permanent fix. You can mix paint in with it and get it to match your color. I need to get some touch-up paint to give it a go.

One suggestion on the crack repair. Drill a small hole about 1/8 on an inch ahead if the crack. What this does is, once the epoxy is in place, the crack is going to continue to the hole you drilled. Once the crack reaches the hole, the stress is relieved and the crack will stop. Also the epoxy will hold everything together better if you rough up the "inner" surface with course sandpaper and wipe clean with alcohol. hope this helps.

RR.
