Default PC-V Question

I've been told that I can run my PC-V (2011 model) on my 08 Road King with the proper map loaded. Curious though about the need for the o2 sensor eliminators. Per the Power Commander website installation instructions for a 2009 bike you have to install the o2 sensor eliminators with the PC-V but on my 2011 you just unplug the o2 sensors & their are no o2 eliminators. On the PC-III USB you also need the o2 sensor eliminators.....More confused now than ever. It might just be easier to sell it & just go with the PC-III!

Any insight would be appreciated.

I have a 2010 EG Classic with a PC-V. The O2 sensors were unplugged and secured but no eliminators were required. I don't get a check engine light and the bike runs fine.

Someone here may be able to tell you the exact year, but there was a model year cutoff where the eliminators were no longer required. You might also contact Jamie at FuelMoto and ask him about it, he's very helpful when it comes to questions about the PC or any other items they sell.

I had an 08' Ultra and had the o2 sensor eliminators. Now I have an 11' StreetGlide, No o2 sensor eliminators, Hole Plugs instead.

Call Fuel Moto. They know all about these units.

The '11 model doesn't need eliminators but the '08 does. The '02-'08 models can use a PCIII or a "retrofit" PCV, but '09 and above are PCV only.

My bike is an 08. That's where I have my confusion. The 08 uses the PC-III. I'll call Jamie. Thanks

Just got off the phone with Keith at FuelMoto. (Jamie's at Sturgis) He said the PC-V will work on the o8 model FLHR but requires use of the o2 sensor eliminators. Gonna get those ordered today & get my stage-1 done early next week running a FM map for my PC-V! Yes!!!! Props to FM's Jamie & Keith.....

Glad it worked out for you. I figured FuelMoto had your answers. Enjoy!

Klaybus, I misread your OP and thought you were installing the PCV on an '11 bike. Re-reading it I still don't know if the PCV was removed from an '11 bike or was purchased for an '08 in 2011. I should've read your post more thoroughly before answering and I've edited my response above accordingly. I regret any confusion that caused.
