I finally installed a 2010 SG front and a 2007 SG rear wheel on my 07 Electraglide Classic. I followed the advice of several forum members and used the 2010 front axle and spacers with 07 rotors. Everything fit and the look of my bike has changed a lot. Thanks for the advice on how to do the swap. Here is a before and after comparison.
Looks good. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. Is there any overall height difference of the new tire wheel combo as compared to the 07?
Thanks,
Rick
latraveler, hope you don't mind me answering but i've done a lot of research on this.....
even though its an 18'' wheel, with the low profile tire, it is actually just a hair shorter than the 16''.
the stock tire on the 07 is a mt90-16 which is equivalent to a 130/90-16 and has a diameter of 25.213''
the stock tire on the 10 is a 130/70-18 which has a diameter of 25.165''. a total difference of .048''. divide that in half, and it will sit lower in the front by .024'' (about 1/36 of an inch). in other words, virtually identical.
Bike looks good with the other big change you made - black wall tires which also compliment the "new" wheels and give the entire bike a more edgier look JMO.
