I bought my streetglide to keep it a streetglide....no intention of putting Ultra stuff on it, other than the lowers. My dragon wings and Klock windscreen fixed the issue. Heated grips have been added as well.
I love the Road King, BTW.
But taking the fairing off is a BAD idea. Trade in for a RK if you want a RK.

If you do major changes to it, such as you have suggested, you will lose whatever equity you have in the bike. No one wants to buy a bike that has had such things done to it. I can not see a dealer taking in a bike that has had such work done to it. You may have all the confidence in the world in your abilities. And, you may be a first rate, master motorcycle mechanic. But to a stranger.... It will just be a bike someone played with and, perhaps, messed up.
Wind deflectors, new radio and/or components, rifle scabbard, different rims.... That is one thing. Or, several. But you know what I mean. Playing with wireing....
Taller shield. Won't look as purty, but it'll get the roiling part of the wind moved up above your helmet. The other thing is to go lower, and get your helmet completely into the wind. The latter is noisy because of the wind-sound, but it will eliminate buffeting. On an RG, I don't think the latter option's available (unless your 7 feet tall). So go for the taller windshield, 8" or 9" at a minimum, probably.

Just go trade the damn thing in on a bike w/out a fairing....
You can always add a fairing to the bike w/out a fairing....if indeed you like a fairing better
Maybe stronger neck muscles will prevent bobble-head j/k
The eBay auction makes it very clear that these deflectors only work on STOCK Street Glides. So if you have the spotlights, they won't work.
Doesn't look like it to me either. Based on what I did to mine I would think it would be fairly easy for the manufacturer to make. Maybe I'll contact the guy and let him know there is interest.
