MANUFACTURER PRPAGANDA TO MAKE US BUY THEIR TIRES ....SAME AS OIL COMPANIES....
I got 20,000 miles out of the first two rear tires (D408) I had on this bike. The front D407's I got 20k and 26k respectively. But I got sick of the expense of these tires so when I heard of the American Elite I gave it a try. No complaints at all and I'll go with them again when time to replace.
I think it really comes down to riding style. A lot of people who prefer the 880s typically have a more aggressive riding style that warrants the "extra" stickiness. The ones that are getting 16-18k usually just ride relatively easy and cruise with the occasional trip through the twisties. I am one that rides pretty stinkin hard, and still get 10-12k out of my Metz...
I have the Conti on the HD and like them for touring around but I will probably go to Avon next change. I have never been a fan of the Dunlop as I have never had luck with miles on them, used them but do not care for them. But when you are on the road and need a tire they work fine.
...LMAO....Yellin....I simply forgot my caps on....THAT'S SOME FUNNY **** THERE.....
I try not to attack anybody personally and if my typing in caps offended you or upset you in anyt way i Appologize....Might have been the arthritis or the Makers mark or that small *** keyboard on the Smartphone.....There i hope this makes it better.... Now to the discussions at hand...
