You're gonna' get a lot of opinions on this but I see you are in Los Angeles. C & C Motorcycle Seat Company just built me a wonderful seat, it's gorgeous and comfortable and they will work with you to custom tailor a seat for you that you will love and for not that much more than a new stock seat. They're in Paramount on Downy. Talk to Dave and he will fix you up and have your butt comfortable in less than a week.
Good Luck
Harley Hammock for two up and Danny Gray for solo. My solo seat is comfortable and good for 400 miles a day, the hammock has made a 500 mile day trip and I still had no issues, so I don't know the ceiling on it. I had my OEM seat reworked with double memory foam, its know where close to the other two regarding comfort.
I have a 1996 Road King and am in need of a comfortable seat BAD. If anyone know of any make or model that will make my butt smile or has the stock seat they are willing to sell let me know. The seat that is on it right now is a La Pera, for a smaller guy it would be nice but im a big guy and it kills me!
Why don't you give Mean City Cycles a call.... they re-work stock seats with memory foam.... move up, down, back, forward narrower or whatever.... they do some great work....
I have a nice mustang with passenger pad I just took off my 03 RKC before I traded it in. Almost 1 year old bought it last September. Very comfortable for both rider and passenger.
An inexpensive option with a 30 day money back guarantee is the Airhawk. I got one about 4-5 months ago and am quite impressed with it. Much more comfortable than any of the customized seats I've had.
They give you 30 days to try it out...you don't like it, send it back and get your $ back.

I went from the stock RG seat on my '04 to a Sundowner that was better but not quite what I'd hoped for. I picked a used Mustang touring seat from fellow forum member and have been very happy for more than 2 years now. I'm 6'1" and run about 250 and the seat is great. I've been on a couple LePera's and they seem to be on the firm/hard side. Good luck with your search. It may take a bit of trial and error.
