I went from a 07 FLHT STD to a 2011 RG. IMO, it handles better & cuts through the wind. Don't worry about getting the correct WS. You can do a search on this site & get all kinds of great info. I run a Wind Vest 14". Check with them, they are great to work with. Good luck

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I'm gonna hold on to mine for a long time. Traded my Fat Bob for the Road Glide. I thought the Fat Bob handled the curves well, this thing is the shitz.

I agree with all said here. Pastor John nailed it with his comments about the lowers and windshield. Like him, I had to dial mine in. You either love the look or hate them. I had ridden sport touring bikes for many years so the fixed fairing was like home to me. I added the lowers, intercom/cb and tourpack with rear speakers since the wife goes with me most of the time.Good luck.

Road Glide, who would want such a Fugly bike, it's different, the radio is to far away, the lights don't turn with the handlebars, etc, lol, just kidding. I love mine and unless they stop making them and I can't find another one, will probably be the last model HD I own.

I have an 04 Road Glide and I can;t say enough about how much I love it.
TC88 with 5 speed has everything you need. I have a Stage 1upgrade, Thunderheader, Power Commander, K&N HI Flow filter and it kicks ***. I also have a detachable Tour Pak that comes in handy for long trips but pops right off for that more sporty look.

I'll give you my 2 cents. I've been on a 2005 Fat Boy since January 2005, and just recently (last February) bought a 2011 CVO Road Glide Ultra. The Road Glide is a big bike, took a lot of getting used to in low speed city riding, but on the highway it's a dream machine. If I was going to dump my fatboy, I probably would have gone to a Road King/Street Glide but selling my Fat Boy was never going to be an option. I bought the RG because although I ride every weekend with my club, I wanted to start touring more outside of the local long weekend runs here in California i.e., Laughlin River Run, Vegas Bike Week, etc. Since taking delivery of my RG in March I have put 6k miles on it touring all over, recently just coming back from a 2K run/tour of Northern Arizona. The RG is a dream tourer to me and I hope to put another 6K on her by the end of the year.

Please feel free to PM me if you want any specifics. Ride Free..

Thanks in advance for chiming in.......
Can you take it for a test ride?

I love the fixed fairing. I lucked out as the first shield I bought was a 15" Windvest that seems almost perfect, some people try a bunch before finding the right one. I took the lowers off of my 06 EGC that I got rid of and will be putting them on soon. Im 603 so the fairing being out there a bit feels a little more roomy to me. I have no trouble handling this bike at low speeds,I really never had any trouble with any touring bike at low speeds to be honest. I am totally happy with the change from the batwing. Not to say I would never own a batwing again but, I would never own a bike without a fairing again.
