I was @77 HP and 87 TQ w/my first tune and
took it to Speeds Performance Plus and for the 2nd tune and am now @ 84 HP and 94 TQ.
He uses V-Tune with the Dyno. Highy recommend them..
Big difference!!
Need to get some head work done on it to open it up. Maybe a bigger cam, go to a higher compression.
I'm getting 108H/120T on my 103 stage V
These HD's are not made for speed though..
Yes you might squeeze a lot more HP & TQ out of them, but really how long will they last?
That's why I took it easy on the cams as I did not want to stress the valve train so much..
I don't think that you can have drag racin' performance and longevity too.
It's kinda like havin' your cake and eatin' it too.
I'll try a little of both and try to be satisified.
My 08 Street Glide with Rinehart True Duels, K & N Filter, Andrews 31H cam and Harley Race Tuner dyno's out at 92HP and 94LB of torque. Very happy with the results.
stock cams fall off early so the torque doesn"t stay as strong in the upper rpms so hp numbers read low. Your dyno may say 93 torque and another person dynoed at 100 tq but in a head to head race you would probably be pretty even.
I was clueless on what I wanted in engine upgrades when I had my 2009. I just knew I wanted more power.
So after doing a Stage IV upgrade, I found out what I wanted. More torque, quicker.
Not the total numbers at RPMs that I was only gonna use for 10 seconds at a time.
The Stage IV had big numbers, but all the power came in above 3,500 RPMs.
Fine if you wanted to out run your buddies, but money wasted for enjoying it with simple riding.
My new bike has immediate TQ and is a blast to cruise.
So I guess what I’m saying is what are you looking for? Cruising power? Or racing power?
If it’s just power to enjoy all the time, concentrate on the TQ numbers not the HP numbers.
