Default Arnott shock size?

O.K I know there are 100's of threads on here about air ride. TheN always get hijacked and alot of ramble. I have seen a few guys here who have the 13'' shock with a 1'' drop bracket on the rear. What's the purpose of this. I am looking to get the most travel I can as well as the lowest I can go parked as well. I already have issues backing up cause IM 5'9'' and struggle with the reach. I have an 07 SG with an 18'' 180 rear. So question is can I go 13" drop the rear 1" with the bracket and get more travel and not have an issue cause the 18" wheel? or just go with the 13"?

I will concern myself with shock type (Aldan v/s Bilstein’s) when I buy them this week. Still up in the air on if the ride quality is worth the $$$$. I do want it best I can get.
