Check your rotor for an area that has more sheen in just certain spots.

Not sure a rebuild is necessary - the pistons get dirty, as others have posted, and don't retract fully. Lyndall racing brakes has a procedure to clean them but it might be a little old and/or doesn't apply to your bike: http://www.lyndallracingbrakes.com/service_tech.htm. You'll get the idea of what is going on after reading it though.
Thanks, this is worth a try before rebuild, maybe it will give me a harder lever also, older touring front brakes get mushy as time goes on.
I have a sound coming from my rotors at low speed, like there is a high spot on the rotor, New Rotors and new pads, 20000 miles on rotors, a 02 Road King. If you pull the front brake in a hair its gone. I remember it happening one before and went away until my 21 install? Any help? My thought is rebuild the calipers.
Try cleaning the calipers 1st I use a water hose with a light spray loosens up the dirt & crap stuck to the pistons so they will retract into the caliper better.

Water? How about brake cleaner. That should work a little better
That link did the trick, the two pistons on the back side off caliper don't move as much as front side, one poison on each side was hanging, cleaning did the trick
