Default Rotor noise?

I have a sound coming from my rotors at low speed, like there is a high spot on the rotor, New Rotors and new pads, 20000 miles on rotors, a 02 Road King. If you pull the front brake in a hair its gone. I remember it happening one before and went away until my 21 install? Any help? My thought is rebuild the calipers.

clean the rubber seals around the piston, as in remove caliper from fork, pop the pads out, push the piston out a little, clean any crap out, put it back together and repeat on other side. A little crap will keep the piston from moving back, not that it moves back very much, the pads are always dragging.

Check your rotor for an area that has more sheen in just certain spots.

Rebuild them sounds like a good idea.

Not sure a rebuild is necessary - the pistons get dirty, as others have posted, and don't retract fully. Lyndall racing brakes has a procedure to clean them but it might be a little old and/or doesn't apply to your bike: http://www.lyndallracingbrakes.com/service_tech.htm. You'll get the idea of what is going on after reading it though.

Probably a little late for this and is why I posted original but this is what I do. On a pad change I do not push pads in at first. I pull caliper and remove pads. Place a slightly thinner shim in and using pedal push cups out farther. Then I shoe shine them. Push them back in (may need to drain some fluid off top of master). Then I carefully push on pedal watching carefully that all 4 pistons rise same amount. If they do you will probably be OK. If not the caliper needs rebuilt since then it will do what yours is doing or chatter. Most people do not realize a Harley brand brake will not chatter if all 4 pistons are equal.
