Don't keep us in suspense. Where was the fob?

--- you know there is something about people watching/admiring a bike that throws normality out the window.
No doubt on those "admirers" situations... I have a habitual ritual for putting the kickstand down (after the one time I didn't quite have it DOWN - at a dealership nonetheless).

A few days ago, I was pulling in to the parking lot at a performing arts center I tech at frequently. Dance auditions going on. Small crowd of dancers chatting a couple spaces down from where I'm parking, most of them looking at the bike as I'm pulling up. Stand down (of course, as mentioned before). But I did my once-a-year "forget to put it in neutral before letting go of the clutch level" thing.

Darn dancers...

I did that at work on my VStar. I was in a rush and as I went to set her down I noticed the kick stand wasn't down. It all happened in slow motion. Thankfully I had JUST put the engine guard on that weekend and no one was around to see

Welcome to the club. Had both those events just not at the same time. Just this past week 30 miles from home sitting down for dinner had one of those oh crap moments. The fob was at home. Got to try out one of those skills you hope you never need. Started the bike with the code. That was fast and easy. Liked it so well stopped a few more times just for the fun of it.

I've been lucky. Never dropped a bike that way, YET.

Had a kick stand break while I kick starting a PanHead. That wasn't fun.

Lol......the fob was in the hard bag, I never keep it there. When I got back on the bike there was an older gentlemen still pumping gas and watching so I said "ok, let's try this again"! I guess I was trying to act like this was no big deal, I do this all the time.......lol

Haven't done this yet, but I have pulled away from a gas pump with the stand still down. I got really lucky that someone saw it and started yelling, "STAND!" at me.

I managed to drop my first bike ('01 RK) twice within a few minutes. I was trying to back it out of my garage and manuever around acar parked in the drive. As I was angling out, the left grip caught on a box sitting on top of my trach can. Went down on the right engine guard. Neighbors were all watching so I thought I would be a stud and quickly raise it on to the wheels. Would've been a good idea had I put the kick stand down. Brought it right up and then right back down on the left engine guard. Pretty embarassing. Funny now in hindsight.
