When I first started riding about 10 years ago, I wore sneakers instead of riding boots. One particular day, the shoes I was wearing had extra long laces... When I stopped in for a gas I didnt notice that the laces on my left shoe had wrapped themselves around the shifter. Needless to say, she started over and there was no way to stop it.
I'm a new rider. It seem bikers and bikes survive the drop quite well.
I think our Ego does not. Why rush to pick it up? Slowly walk to the convenience store, purchase a coffee. Stand by and watch. Finish your coffee. Pick up the bike and rid off with your head held high. I'll bet 50% of anyone around have no idea that it should be on a kick stand.
I haven't done it yet, but since it's been posted, it will happen eventually. When it does, I'm hoping that I remember JohnTMs response. I'll just leave where lies, walk away, come back normal, pick-up, drive off!

WARNING for lightweights!
Hi guys,
I had to move my fully packed bagger about 6" to clear a doorway ...
It was on the jiffy stand to start, then the stand swung downwards as I raised the bike but the stand could not fold back as I pulled the bike backwards and it was still touching the ground during the move.
Well, to my surprise I had to cope with the weight of the bike while the stand seemed to be in the proper position
It seems the 'slot' that locks the stand could be improved or stiffened.
