I did the Hill Country last April. It was some great roads.
Just don't ride after dark because of the deer though.
We saw lots of deer in the daytime eating grass out of people's yards.
I swear the road to our cabin was 3 miles of hell the sisters were jealous of.
I've ridden them many times and always look forward to riding them again. They are truly special. We are planning on going back there at the end of September during the rally.
The wife and I did the Sisters last month. We had a great time despite the heat. Try Two Fat Boys Bar-b-que in Camp Wood for some truly melt in your mouth brisket. And watch out for bambie, they are al over the place. Some real neat exotics to see too along the way. Got to make this an annual must do ride.
I live in the DFW area but get down to the sisters at least twice a year. A lot of surrounding roads leading to the sisters are very good. Especially from Kerville.

I never tried the Two Fat Boys Bar B Q, but was told it was the best around.
I never saw it, but after we road the far west sister my buddy said he saw two kangaroos doing the nasty. Damn and I miss all the good stuff.
Yeah, I think 335 (or 336) is the "exotic animal sister". One of them has cattle grates too, which can be a little exciting at speed...we've seen camels too, whcih threw me for a loop the first time we did the run: wtf, was that a camel?!
