I've used the Autolite 4163, I guess the same plug that DTTJGlide uses, with no problems. The ion-discharge knock-sensing function of the ECM also works properly with these plugs and they cost about $1.50 each.
Don't think it's the plugs, you may have a bad wire or a bad plug. Try the basic stock HD plug, I think you will find it work the best all around.
I have new SE 10mm plug wires and have tried different plugs. When I switched from SE plugs back to stock 6R12's the bike runs great. I have checked wire resistance just for fun too.
I'm gonna keep it simple. My dealer has dyno'd my bike three time trying to figure out my performance issue. I decided to return to stock plugs because I had nothing else to lose.
Prior to the final dyno during my break-in she ran great. It was after the tuner recommended I switch to Screamin Eagle plugs that the problem started.
BTW, the basic stock plug is too hot for the my high compression motor...especially in Florida :-)
hey my 2008 FLHRC i bought recently apears to have V&H PIPES and a stage one aircleaner with K&N filtor. runs good just but an ocasional pop when i let off gas.
wonder if Autolite XS4163 plugsare ok for my bike ?

Is the Autolite 4163 a resistor plug? Is that the same as part no XS4163?
10R12s for VROD, 2 steps colder, been running them most of this season in a simple stage I 88" SG, but I can't say there is any improvement. Still noticed a little pinginging on the 100+F days. If compression is an issue tighten up the gap a little. I used the Autolites too, they work but the contact nipple isn't fixed like the HD plugs, it's the tread on type and it was loose everytime I checked it.
