you can coat your heat shields no problem but we do them all the time they look and work great!
I'm planning on bringing you some bits this winter for powdercoat, you seem to do great work and I love that I am close enough to avoid having to ship them.

You have some very nice looking work on your website. Do you have to strip the chrome before you powder coat or just powder coat over it? What I am most interested in is getting my front fork cans and lowers, and the chrome piece above the cans and under the fairing coated black and my exhaust heat shields and mufflers coated black. I can take off and reinstall the exhaust, but I've never taken apart or assembled a front end. Can you give me a ball park price on those items and the additional charge for tearing down and rebuilding the front forks?

Wow...thats pretty much exactly what I've had in mind for quite some time. If you don't mind me askin', roughly how much do you estimate all the powder coating cost you?

I'm gonna guess around $600 give or take. You may find cheaper BUT, you won't find BETTER. I personally in doing it once and doing in RIGHT.

Question: Would it be cheaper to send you my current chrome heat shields for black powder coating...or buy the HD ones for like $150?

I'm still bringing you some bits this winter, just trying to sort out what might fit my budget the best.

I have had problems with local powder coating and will keep you in mind. Exhaust has been ceramic coated inside and out; looks good and fairly durable but it will scratch. I preter the look of anodizing on pieces like front forks, A/C cover, rocker boxes, etc.; looks more "hot rod" to me. There is family owned metal finishing company not to far from me, third generation running it now. Anodizing will not chip as easy as powder coating but it will scratch and does have low to moderate wear resistance but that can be improved with increasing thickness or by applying suitable sealing substances.

it is cheaper jsut to send hwat you have, the cost of the new shields would cover the whole cost of coating the shields bud. ship what you have is always cheaper
