Is it normal for the to be a space between the axle holder and the fork itself? The front side of the axle holder touches the fork, but on the rear side of the axle holder has a 1/16" gap between the axle holder and the fork. I don't have the proper torque wrench, however I checked the tension using a 1/2" drive ratchet and it seems very tight.

I think there should be an equal space on each side,at least thats how I would install it.

Torque/tighten the axle nut first then the cap nuts.

You torque them alternating between the two. Doing that should not cause a gap and should tighten them down evenly.

Mine came from the factory wit the front side touching and the gap on the back. Next time I get a service, I'll ask them to re-adjust so that there is an equal gap on both sides.

It doesnt matter if the gap is uneven, the casting is designed to float.

You should tighten them evenly, but dont loose sleep over it!

Beyond the torque specs, there is a proceedure to follow. Not sure about the 2011, but it is critical to follow the procedure on my 2006. Sorry I don't have the 11 or I'd give you the whole proceedure.
