I am really enjoying my new Road King but I have always loved the look of the RK Custom. How hard is it to change the fender and driving lights over and the other couple of pieces it would take. Thanks for the great expertise.
Best thing to do is go to one of the online parts microfiche and look up the FLHRS and the FLHR and compare the two drawings and pn#'s. You will find things like the only difference in the nacelle is the spear and the top shield, etc.
That is exactly what i did excapt, i started out with a road king classic
but, i didn't like that little crome wind deflector and i wanted the heritage
handle bars. Al it amounts to is giving the driving lights, and the big flat
turn signels, and the windsheld mounting brackets a toss into the junk box
and buying a couple of the bullet turn signels.
Now what bothers me is do i have a classic custom or a custom classic ???
So I've got to get some Dyna turn signals and a new fender?
That is about all that it takes, but here is one of my
little tricks, when you remove the windsheld mounting
brackets there will be four bolts that holds the headlight
thing to the forks. Use some allthread and some crome
acorn nuts it makes it look nice.
I didn't swap out my front fender I just let it be
So I've got to get some Dyna turn signals and a new fender?
I think the street glide and the RK custom have the same front fender. Lots of street glides with 21" and wrap around front fenders. Just saw take off fender on eBay for $79.00.
