Default Love my HARLEY

As stated above, I love my 2011 Limited, but All American Company???? I rode metric for years before my Harley and caught Helll from the uninformed Harley crowd because they thought it was made in japan. It was assembeled in the USA just like the Harley. I have added alot of Genuine HD accessories to the Limited and they were not made in USA just like the metrics.
Again I love mt Harley but am sick and tired of these few that think Harley is all USA made.
Now for heat issues, me and the wife just got back from a 700 mile trip on the Limited and I had no heat issues, the CAT is off with Rinehart slip ons.
I have had the bike for 3 months and do not understand why people say the bike is hot. The metrics I rode were water cooled and there isn't much difference with the heat off the motor between the two.
I am 6'3" with a 36" inseam. No buffeting issues here. Sounds to me like some riders need to be in a cage with the windows up and the air conditioner on.
Just my .02 cents.

the heat doesnt bother me. I just dont want any damage done to the engine. Like I said after doing the add ons it seems to have gotten hotter not cooler.

Hide the motor behind a bunch of plastic crap (lowers) in the summer and it will get hot.

Yeah I'v heard that a lot of people take them off in the warmer months. I did remove the vents all the way to add more air flow and it seemed to help a little bit. It opened them up about 2 inches more then they were. Really don't want to remove the lowers if I can help it. I like the look and also the pockets. Not to mention I want to add hog tunes later down the road.

My 09 Ultra got up to 260 oil temp measured at the oil pan, and started pinging when caught in stop & go traffic. Once back to speed, no more ping but took 20 minutes of riding 65mph to get it to cool down,

Riding a 2011 Ultra Limited 103", Moto Fuel stage one, PCV, Jackpot Dynotuned slip-ons and running Mobil 1. After a 50 mile ride on city streets, no freeway, with some stop and go, about 95 degree air temps, Oil temp gage read 280. A buddy just picked up a 2012 Ultra Limited rode with us. I pulled my oil dipstick temp gage and put it in his bike. His read 267 degrees. This was after his ride had sat for about 5 minutes. I'd imagine his oil temps were probably similar to mine. There are a couple other 2011 & 2012 103"s in the chapter whose oil temps I want to check to see if this is the norm. I can handle what heat, at times, that I feel on the legs...not a big deal.... it's a Harley. But, I'd rather not cook the engine on a new bike.

Mine is about the same. 2011 RKC 103 with Power Duals Monster Rounds and Dynoed.
Normal riding I get around 215 to 235. Stop and go traffic, I get 260. I don't keep the EITMS engaged. I think it's pretty much useless, unless stuck in highway traffic. Then I just pull over and shut it down.

'09 FLHX s/e a/c, nightstick slipons, sert rode today 108 degrees oil temp gauge in fairing never passed 230 while moving. Hottest I have seen was about 250 in stop and go traffic in Phoenix metro area.
