You are in a Minority, won't even try to count the ones out here but of at least 10 that I know personally and Ride with with 2007-2010 Tourings Models have all experienced problems with the Stock Compensator .. Myself on Both the 08 EGS and the 09 Ultra ... If this Dealer only says 3 he is just an expert of denying a needed replacement service .. Hell I needed 2 just for me .. Over a 3 year period on 2 Bikes .. Will add Both times replaced the Compensator no more Banging on Start up and noises from the primary that make you cringe when hear them ..

In my first 30k miles I had two compensators replaced. After the second failure they (dealership) installed an SE compensator. I now have over 65k with no additional failures. HTH

I don't have the loud startup noise, some time during slight accelleration it feels as if my clutch slips, however the rpms do not go up,so its not the clutch, and my drive belt is tight,I just wonder if that's the compensator slipping?

The compensator has very limited travel. There's no way it can give enough for you to detect it. Most likely the clutch.

What's the difference between the previous SE Comp and this new one? Have they cut the grooves in it for better lubrication?

I'd like to know that myself. Because I had the previous SE Comp. installed in April. If there is a problem with them any info would be appreciated. I am talking about the one that the part# ends in -08 NOT -08A.

Past 18K on my 10 Ultra. Most of it was loaded on tour and 75-80 mph in the western states.

Comp is working fine. My son's 06 Street Bob with 38K just checked his and it was fine. He checked it and the stator when he did have to do the transmission main shaft bearing.
