I test mine at speed every once in awhile. If I find myself tailing too close to someone that is slowpoking, and no one is behind me, it's time to test out the ABS and I shut her down right now. This allows me to practice and also gives me that space that I should have had in the first place!

This my first Harley and I'm glad it's got ABS. Won't own anything else without it.

When I was riding an '07, I was torn about getting ABS on it's replacement. Fortunately, HD made it standard on the RGU, ending my internal debate. I had to make a very short stop recently, and it performed flawlessly. Felt like I'd dropped an anchor was was just stretching the line! Stopped me 4 feet short of a collision - and I don't believe the '07 would have done the same. Brembos and ABS make a great combination!

My 2000 BMW has an ABS switch. Not sure why Harley doesn't use one.

I suppose you could pull the fuse but that would disable both the front and rear.

i am so glad i got abs. couple weeks ago i came over a hill in a 55mph zone and yes i was going the speed limit and all of a sudden i notice the car in front of me is stopping to turn right. I came to a stop about 5 ft from their rear bumper. the rice burner beer can exhaust honda had dark black tinted tail light covers and with my sunglasses i could barely see the lights even stopped right behind it. yes, its illegal to have these covers in this state but does it matter if u hit the back of it going 55. I swear if it wasnt for abs or been an older bike im pretty sure i would have had to lay it down.

I just had a situation at Delmarva Bike week. Friday night i had a person in a cage pull out in front of me and thought for sure it was all over. The abs worked flawless.

Not yet sold on the ABS here.

I've had more than a few instances where where I was coming in Hot to a quick stop, then hit a tiny crack in the road. Not a good feeling.
While the ABS immediately kicks in sensing the tiny crack in the road, it takes a painfully long second, ........... before normal braking resumes, adding several feet to where I expected to stop.

Tempted to pull the fuse on the ABS here.
Am I the only one in this group?

What year bike? Make sure you have the latest software update. I wish I had a 3 way switch for mine, normal, rear disabled, all disabled(for dirt/gravel roads). I think it works very well on the front as the front wheel doesn't encounter the same issues as the rear does but I still have some of the same issues on the rear but it has lessened(50%+ better) since I had the ABS software update done on my 08.
