I would like to see a Saddlemen Explorer G-TECH on a street glide anyone with experience? It looks like it would be nice low & comfortable and not look like a throne.
DITTO on the Mean City Cycles. Sent my 07 SG seat off and had it cut narrow and different foam installed and love it. James is a great guy and his craftsmanship is second to none.
I hated my stock seat and switched to the slightly reduced reach seat, #52619-08A. It moves you 1/2" forward & down. It was just enough for me and feels great. Passenger portion is a little wide for my liking though...
Someone like Mean City Cycles can help you with ground reach. As far as comfort goes, what I am hearing is anyone over 250 pounds should probably take a look at having their seat modified by Russel Day Long, it won't be sporty, but it will be comfortable.
Id send the seat to meean city cycles and have them rework it for you. www.meancitycycles.com
+5 on Mean City. They are a forum sponsor and do great work. They can customize the seat for you - add memory foam, lower you, move you back, narrow the seat so you have more reach, etc....
I just got mine back and it looks great. I've only gone on a short ride but it seems very comfortable. They say it takes about 800 miles to fully break in to you but then you have a seat that is all YOURS.
I had them replace the Street Glide panels with Ostrich and it looks great too. I'll try to post some pictures later today...

Reason: grammar
I agree with the Mean City recommendation. I needed to be 3/4" lower on my Road King with no change front to back. They did exactly that plus reshapped the seat pan and replaced the foam with hospital grade memory foam. I went from 200 miles per day with butt burn to 450 with no problem. Plus, its cheaper than a new seat.
When i purchased my 2008 FLHRC i was on my tippytoes ,short inseam .I had MeanCity Cycle rework the seat for me . lowered and nose narrowed, with Memory foam option for comfort. When i got it back it looked great, set 2.5" lower and nose much narrower . i cam flat foot it now and after it broke in i t took a 1650 mile trip over a long weekend and was comfortable the whole trip.It was way cheaper than a new seat . $100 plus shipping. Trifty.
