Default Air ride or not?

Thinking of changing stock shocks to the progressive 940's, read alot of good things about them and also bike will sit a little lower which would be an improvement for me. Anyone done this or stick with air ride. Shocks are very expensive so trying to get some advice first.
Thanks, John Bike is Ultra Classic 2003

If you're looking to just lower it, throw on a set of SG shocks (12" eye to eye). Cheap fix IF you're vertically challenged...

If you want adjustable I would go with an air ride set up. I just picked up Arnott for my'02 Road King and I really like it, but that's my opinion.
