My list is very short. I just got the insurance estimate yesterday. 9K to fix the Ultra. They have to buy all new parts due to the 100th Anniversary tape. I should have an offer to total it tomorrow. We will see what that looks like. I may spend the winter trying to decide what bike to buy, if any. The wife is getting around better every day. Thank the Lord.
I had hoped to get most of this done before winter, but probably won't at this rate.
Have a set of WO 575s, new Barnett clutch/throttle/idle cables, a Supertrapp Superbeg 2-1, and a TP QD kit with Gilbos440rt aluminum bushings and laydown plate mount all standing by.
Also plan to give Howard a call and get a set of Ohlins shocks as soon as finances permit.
I'm with you scot210, seems like the weather here was crap until mid July. What a shitty year. Can't complain about the last 6 or 7 weeks though. Hopefully we'll get nice weather well into October and get in a bunch more riding before the monsoons hit.
I dont know about winter list yet. Just finishing up the Fall list. I bought the bike July 31st and tore it down last week for mock up and paint.
1. Woods TW555 cams with SE tapered push rods
2. Thundermax Auto Tune
3. S&S power tune duals header with Rinehart slipons
4. Sony head unit, Rockford amp and Hertz 6.5 speakers
5. Topshop 4" extended bags and fender
6. Cycle sounds 6x9 speaker lids
7. Painted Inner fairing
8. 10" Yaffe Monkey Bars
9. Progressive drop in lowering kit
10. Arnott/bilstein air ride kit for rear
11. 21/18" Hog Pro shelby wheels
That about wraps up the fall mods. Should be all done this weekend.
Winter will be a 107" or 117" big bore kit with welded crank and timken, and headwork.
Not such an extensive list here, just some basic upgrades, and a couple stying pieces.
Vance and Hines Pro Pipe chrome
Arlen Ness Big Sucker
Power Comander III
Bikes only got 14000 miles so not doing cams or tensioner plate upgrade yet.
Klock Werks Curvacious Upper Covers (removal of rear bar)
Klock Werks Saddlebag Fillers
HD or Kury Bullet Rear Signal Bar
License plate re-locate to below left sadddlebag (with 2 into 1 pipe)
Re-Upholster and Re shape my SG seat with Gel Pad (or buy a C&C not sure yet)
Some sort of A/C Cover not sure yet
And thats all Ive got planned for now, its already getting quite chilly up here, Ive got a long winter season, and lots time of time to tinker.
I don't have much planned for mine, since I had a ton of things done before i took delivery last spring. I am planning on a stage iv kit with a v&h pro pipe
I do have some plans (been buying parts all summer) for my wife's SG though-
painted inner fairing
Chrome front end
Cow bells painted to match (sedona orange)
Cvo bars
Heated grips
And some pinstripping to break up all that orange....
She is not into going fast, so she wants to keep the 96 w/ stage 1 as is
What is this winter you speak of? Our people have no such word. How does it affect riding? Is the weather not conducive to traveling on 2 wheels?
Well for at least 45 days (mid jan to end of Feb) wind chill puts the weather in the single digits and the wind on the verizanno bridge will move a full dresser with a 270lb me from lane to lane. I'm not the smartest cookie in the jar, but I didn't get to be 53 by playing chicken with mother nature if you know what I mean.
So the bike will get parked and both maint and upgrades applied.
I survive the 45 days driving the z28, mustang, or audi.
