Has any one added heated seats to an 09 Ultra? My wife has me inquiring
since she started long distance traveling on the rear Barko Lounger. Any
paticular brand better than another? Was considering Rich's Seats since
he is local for me in WA State.
hmmm, sounds pricey.
any chance of just getting a heated pad- esp if you already like your seat- and assuming that she is with you less than 50% on the time.
If your happy with you seat, why not send it to Mean City Cycle and have them put their heatpads in it. Lot cheaper than a new heated seat.
Mean City put a heat pad in mine, you can feel it when the seat is cold and it is a little uncomfortable until it warms up, either by turning it on or by sitting on it for a few minutes. It seems to soften when warmed then it is okay. Gets good and hot. Mostly on low is good, on long trips sometimes I use an Airhawk seat pad, put the heater on high and it heats right through the seat pad, no problem. While the seat is at Mean City you can have it reshaped for easier ground reach or any other thing you want.
just buy her a set of gerbings. cheap as a new seat but lots warmer.

Ditto (minus the spelling). Gerbings is the best money spent on cool/cold weather riding. That and a full face helmet (only time I wear FF is in cold weather) and life is good. Heated seat, heated grips. Forget about it. When I am on a ride I ain't worried about my butt nearly as much as I am my hands, feet and torso. Got all that covered and the pants (not liners) are next.
I too have the Harley SunRay heated seat on my Road Glide. I had it installed when I bought the bike. Both my wife and I really enjoy having it. I would think you can just take your seat to Rich's if you like your current seat and he will just add heated pads. I have never used him yet but do plan on having him make a seat for my wifes Sporty.
