I have a 07 FLHX with stage 1, V&H monster ovals and a V&H fuel pak. Would this still work for me? I still run pretty hot with the code I have for the fuel pak.
Can someone explain xieds to me. I have seen this posted a lot, but can someone let me know what it is and what it does?
I've been running them for two years now on three different bikes. I have them on the 2012 Triglide you see in my sig pic. Go to tuneyourharley.com
Lot's of good reading there. Lot of good info on how capable the stock ECM is also. As long as you stay with the stock headpipe, cat or no cat and stage 1 Air filter and slipon's, the xied's will work fine IMO.
I put them on my stock 2010 StreetGlide. Honestly couldnt tell you if they "work" or not. Still running them assuming the engine is "cooler" but have no idea. Its always hot when I touch it!

also wont help cool engine down to touch ,but will richen up fuel mixture to help cool down exhaust....
I have the older 02 IED's on my 2010 FLSTFB, with the Bassani Road Rage Long w/Quiet B. stock AC No stage 1 download, and yes it is still Hot, but not as bad as it was with the stock exhaust w/cat.
AFR is 14.2
JMHO
Call the nightrider guys and they will give you the straight talk about how/why they work.

+1. I have 'em on my 2011 FLTRU and honestly can't tell a difference with the "butt dyno." Engine heat seems the same too. I'm keeping them on for peace of mind (placebo effect?). I don't like how lean the stock ECU runs so I'm hoping this richer mixture helps prolong my engine's life.
My 09 when stock had a slight pinging problem under certain riding conditions which was repeatable.
XIEDS solved that, making the mixture slightly richer.
With that, I was able to add hi flow exhaust and intake and retain good function.
they are a simple solution to a sometime complex problem
MPG maybe dropped from 44 to 43, they cost about $125 shipped, and they offer a Military Discount ( which my Bro got)
