Default Tank Badges

I have seen a few bikes with the tank badges/emblems removed and am torn between really liking the way it looks and how hard it would be to put them back on if I ever wanted or needed to. Does anyone have any experience/advice on how hard it would be to put the badges back on if I took them off? Thanks

I've taken them off, hated it. Changed styles a couple of times, not cheap. Depending on what year bike you have, if you end up not liking the naked look it can be costly to replace the emblems. They can be removed using some fishing line or dental flos. Some emblems can be reattached using 3M double sidede tape. I settled, for now, on 2011 FLHX tank emblems of my '08 FLHX. I call it my 2011 wanabee bike.

I haven't done it, and don't plan to, but if you carefully "saw" the emblems off with fishing line, hot day would be best, later you could reattach them with some good double sided tape product.

[ATTACH]205060To each their own, I like the clean look. Painter took them off, you can use dental floss and WD-40 to get them off and 3M double sided tape to put them back on.

If I had 3D emblems, I'd take them off in a heart beat. I love the look. But with my decals being clear coated over, I'm stuck. Oh well, it'll be a couple of years before I decide to paint it.

Amen. Ripped them from my Street Glide in no time and never looked back. Now I have emblems *and* pinstriping that I can't get rid of.

One of these days though...

Easy to remove...heat it up with blow dryer or small heater (as I did) saw the badge off with floss then clean up with 3M adhesive remover. Re-install would require getting some double sided tape and trimming to fit. My new badges came ready to stick. SC

Default easy!

I took mine off with thread soaked in goof-off.

However work the thread towards you, or you might create swirl marks on the paint.Tank Badges-photo-2-.jpg
