Default NOOB Question

I just brought home a new 2011 SG with the 103. Is there something special I need to do to shift into neutral while the bike is running. I can only do when it is shut off. As soon as you kill it you hear a clank in the tranny and then you can go to neutral. I traded my deluxe for this one and never had this on it. Or maybe I am just a total noob!

its new..... Put some miles on it and it'll work itself out. My 10 when new was the same way. You'll find every comment saying the same thing..

I have about 1300 miles on my 2011 Limited and it is just now getting where I can get it in neutral about half the time without turning it off first.

After your 1k service, it will feel like a new bike. Neutral will be a lot easier to find. Try to shift into neutral before your wheels stop turning. Once stopped it is still a little hard to do but nothing like when it's new.

I find that it's easier to use the heel shifter to shift into neutral, in fact it's the only time I use the heel shifter and after 2000 or so miles it has gotten easier.

I use the heel shifter for neutral to seems to be easier for me. I toe shift all gears except neutral thats the only reason I left the heel shifter on is for neutral I also put on one of the 45* heel shifters and I leave it in that position.

2000 miles and its still hard to find neutral for me. I agree, neutral is easy to find with the bike off.

I'll try the heel shifter.

+1 Things need to get broke in a little, If it continues after a couple thousand miles, try and fine tune your clutch a little or try changing brands of oil in the primary.
