Just for info, I found this:
Adjustable Passenger Footboard Mount Kit
Maximize your passenger’s riding comfort. These 5-position
Adjustable Mounts raise and lower the passenger footboard.
The lowest position is 2" forward from stock, and the
highest position is 2.5" higher than stock. Easy to adjust with
a common hex wrench. Kit includes left and right adjustable
support assembly and all required mounting hardware.
Footboard pans and inserts sold separately.
Fits ’93-later Touring models (except Trike).

I'm not sure these provide the same surface as the original ???

I would put some more thought into moving the passenger boards forward. My wife allows her boots to protrude a few inches to the front of the board while riding and at times I find myself bumping her foot when I go to stop. It would also be a pain for your calves in a situation you have to peddle backwards with the passenger boards down. Just my .02.
