If the engine light comes on I would think it is throwing a error code. Have you checked?

Don't know how to check the code...unless I take it to the dealer?

fuel tubes could have wore through inside tank causing fuel pressure problems. Not an uncommon in fuel injected bikes.

Not sayin' this is the case, but a lot o' folks would rather ask all kinds o' questions rather than goin' out & spendin' the money to get the shop manual.
It IS one of the better bargains, IF one is gonna do the work themselves.....a wealth of info., and it only takes one "fix" to pay for the hot damn book as opposed to payin' the dealer to do it!!!!

Dude, check your cam chest (inner cam bearings and cam chain tensioners) before you fubar it.

i gonna fubar something...my job closed down today. found out on facebook...wtf. open last night, day shift went in and the locks were changed...

anyway i still need help with my bike...thanks, vinnie
