Default Got a problem!

recently relocated to socal and cant register my bike in CA because it doesnt have enough miles on it. due to not having CA emissions it has to have 7500 miles to register. The question I have is: is there any way to advance the electronic speedo on a 2009 FLHX?

Lift the rear wheel in the air, start the engine, put it in a desired gear, and just let it run. Harley may also have a way to "test" the speedometer, which in turn will up the ODO as well like some OBD II cars do. Either way, tampering with the ODO is pretty damn illegal.

As long as you have some sort of plate and tag on it, I would just ride it conservatively and not do anything to get pulled over for.

Never heard of trying to put more miles on an odometer but bet dealer will not do it. Even if you get one off e-bay be careful. With state inspections and all added miles should not be a problem but putting the old lower one back on will throw up red flags if inspected and it's lower and its a federal offence to alter miles. Did you mean 75,000? Hope an older head will work.

Just ride it. If you get stopped it's a slap on the wrist if the cop decides to cite you, and it's not a moving violation so it won't effect your insurance. I wouldn't even think twice about it.

Are the plates still current from the state your from? If so I would ride it until the 7500 miles are up. Plus who's to say you aren't just there visiting! I'm assuming you are moving there to stay for awhile? Most states give you at least 30 days to change your registration address.....

Default Thanks for the advice!

I know its not alot of miles and I bought the bike new but have been deployed for most of it. Ridding is out of the question right now the plates are expired and im already in hot water with the wife, I thought about getting the rear wheel off the ground and letting it rack up the miles but gas prices keep going up.
Thanks anyways for the ideas.
