Problem with factory security system
I just bought a 2002 Harley Davidson Road King Classic from a guy off craigslist. It has no owners manual. It came with a factory security system with the one button remote. i need to set a passcode on the bike in case i loose the remote or the battery dies. I've read threads on how to set the code buy moving the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on and then pressing the left turn signal button twice and pushing the remote button twice. The code does not show up in the odometer like I was reading that it would. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Following my manual, your doing everything correct so far but step 5 (after keying the fob button 2 times) is to Press left turn switch 1 time and release. Confirmation is 1-9 flashes if code previously entered and None if no code entered. I have an 03 Heritage Classic and does not read out on odometer, but in flashes of the turn signals. My 11 FLHTK reads on odometer. Step 6 If code previously entered, count flashes for number and then press and release left turn switch to advance through the digits. ie. 3 flashes, press once for 4 or advance 8 flashes to 2 press switch 3 times 9-1-2. Going onto 2 digit, Step 7 Quickly press key fob button 2 times and release. Step 8 Press left turn switch 1 time and release. Confirmation 1-9 flashes, none if no code entered. Repeat above to set new number or press fob 2 times to move onto 3 digit. (5 total)
