Default Longer clutch cable help??

Hey all,
I am changing the handle bars on my new 2011 Ultra Classic to the touring pull back bars which move the controls two inches closer to the rider.
I have read all the posts on this subject, and it appears I have to change the clutch cable, but not necessarily the brake lines. I looked on line at the dealership website, and see the only cable recommended is a diamond braded cable which is a silver color which comes in several lengths. I would prefer a basic black cable so I need to know the length cable needed for the new bars. The posts from the fourm say I need an additional four inches (which is what my wife has said for years) but again I need a stock cable length so I have a point of reference. Also there are several aftermarked dealers which offer cables, who is best??
My mutiple part request for info is
How long is my stock cable?, and does anyone know the hd part#?
How much longer cable do I need for the touring pull back bars?
Who would you recommend purchasing a black cable from?

The wife and I are headed to Fayetteville for BBB end of the month, and am hoping to have the bars on by then,

Thanks

Barnett will make you a +4" clutch cable in regular black vinyl. I just did this and they had it to me in about a week. Quality looks great, and I've had a Barnett clutch cable on my shovel since the mid 90s. Still hanging in there.

Part #38649-08 or 08A will work for a 2" change and maybe a couple of inches more. I think I paid around $30 for the cable at my dealer. This cable is the one I used for a 2" pullback change, and as I noted to, I believe would work for maybe a 4" handlebar change.

Barnett seems to have a good data base of what cable lengths are needed for a particular year and application. Travel lengths are critical and somewhat hard to measure accurately seeing as +/- 1/4" could make a difference. I don't know that they stock anything, so an over length cable costs what a standard one does as it will be made to order regardless. Only thing about Barnett is they will only sell to one of their dealers. You can get tech info all day long from them, just can't purchase on your own.

I put the same handle bars on my bike and did not have to change the clutch cable.

Not true. Email customer service and they will sell direct... well, they did for me at least, and I doubt I'm that special. Wasn't a problem.

This is the route I would go

In answer to your first question. The stock cable is 62 11/16 long. Some say that you don't need to lengthen the cable just reroute the stock, but I did a handlebar swap with a new cable. The old one would have been short unless I routed it in some really weird way. I checked into the bars you are using and a +4 is what you will want to use. Do yourself a favor and do it the right way. One more thing to think about is to make sure you have all your parts before you start, this will save you some aggravation. Thanks for listening to the likes of me.

Thanks so much for the info. The part numbers and cable lengths are exactly what I needed. FYI I talked with Barnett, and they will sell direct. Sales told me 3 to 5 day turn around. I am going to check with my dealer tomorrow on the part number suggested. As for changing bars without a new cable, after reading all the previous posts on that subject it sounds like a pain re-routing the cable, and one post said it was tight on one side with the steering turned all the way. I am going for the new cable in +4. Thanks everyone for the in-put.
