Compare overall diameter specs of the tire you currently have (16" wheel) to the one you'd like to install on the 17" wheel. This would be a good indication of whether raising or lowering the rear of the bike is necessary. I suspect both tire diameters are about the same.

This is a good point. You also have to consider that you only account for half of the difference in the two diameters. In other words, a more accurate picture of the height difference will be seen by comparing the difference in overall RADIUS (from axle to ground).

Can anybody tell me who makes this wheel? I bought the bike used and i've been trying to figure out who makes it. I looked for some markings on it, but couldn't find any. Thanks

I would hate to have another bike with a 21" wheel.
