Looking lower my SG some in the rear, can anyone recommend a good shock to go with? I had progressive 812's heavy duty on my fat bob and it improved the ride alot... So any info would be appreciated.
Call Ron at Bitchin Baggers he does a nice job, he will take them down so you wont bottom the tire and fender and you will still get a decent ride.He took mine down to 11in and I love them.It only takes about a week for turn around and he only charges a 175.00 plus shipping.

Used these on a '08 Ultra and recently sold them. Ron IS a great guy and they DO have fast turnaround times. If 12" on your SG is too tall, Ron can fix you right up. Just remember (borrowing this from others here), your ride comfort will suffer a bit, though.
I have 12" Ohlins (3-1s from Motorcycle Metal) which are lower than stock, and have a much, much better ride as well. I've ridden other bikes with Ohlins, but until now, hadn't ridden a Harley with them. They make a huge difference in both handling and ride comfort. Not cheap, though.
Still and all, I'd buy them again, they're that good.
I lowered my 09 rg using a set of lowering blocks. Still using the stock shocks so the ride stayed basically the same. By lowering 1in it now sits like a stock sg. They cost me about $80. Wasnt in the mood to spend a few hundred on a new set of shocks
